If there can be a reason for distress,

If darkness falls by method or design,

It must be to remind us we are blessed

With those who rally with us in such times.

Perhaps we are but tested, now and then,

And challenged with misfortune, pain and strife,

Lest we forget the loyalty of friends,

And how much love surrounds us all our lives.
